As we move through this temporary downturn in our economy, our needs call for a variety of responses.

Listed below are just a few of the many resources that are accessible for your use.

Laid off, unemployed, looking for work?  Looking for leads? Wanting to network? Needing assistance or helpful feed-back on your resumes?

In recent months our congregation has been referring those seeking employment to the ‘Career Transitions Ministry’ a free and excellent service that met weekly at the First Baptist Activity Center on Independence Boulevard. While this ministry has been suspended for the time being, its leader, Mr. Bo Burch, Senior Partner with Bio-Partners Search Group and a specialist in staffing and recruiting, has offered to furnish a 2 to 4 hour seminar free of charge at First Presbyterian Church to 7 or more individuals who are in the midst of a job/career transition  and desiring a consultation in their pursuit of employment. If you would be interested in participating in such a seminar, please contact  Pete Brown.

In need of someone who cares enough to listen?

Want to make your dollars go farther when buying  groceries?

“Angel Food Ministries” is available to all.  Information can be found on their website, www.angelfoodministries.com. A week’s worth of groceries that would  normally go for $50 to $70 can be purchased for $28 to $30.  Operating out of Atlanta, GA,  “Angel Food Ministries” has three distribution spots in the Wilmington area:

Life Community Church                            St. Paul's UMC                                     Believers Destiny Church

5629 Oleander Dr.                                    300 Harper Ave., Carolina Beach      1217 N. Kerr Ave.

791-3859                                                     524-4145                                                602-7729

If your current financial condition finds you unable to meet your most basic needs for housing, utilities, food, medical care or medications, there are a number of resources in both our church and community of which you may want to be aware.  It has long been the most distinguishing mark of authentic Christian communities of faith that they “care for one another.”  Please don’t let us fail to show that care for lack of being aware of a critical need that may be yours.
